Well done!!Reviewed byTT JonesVote: 8/10

Most loving parents, when they bring a child into the world, have an idea or "fantasy" about what that child'd life will be like. Our little boys will grow up to become happy, successful young men, with lots of friends will marry a nice young woman, and will have babes of their own. Likewise, our little girls will grow up to become happy, successful young women, will have lots of friends, will marry a wonderful man, and will have babes of their own. Perfect! But what happens when YOUR idea of happiness for your child, doesn't match THEIR idea of happiness? What is more important to you? Do you want them to be happy...or do you want them to "fit in" with what you, your neighbors, family etc all expect? That is what this movie is about.

This movie tells the story of the emotional process that the parents of Jenny, a newly "out" lesbian go through to come to terms with her lifestyle--which is very different than what they "fantasized" for her. As a mom of a lesbian (similar in looks actually to Jenny) we have been through this, although we were accepting pretty quickly, but it is definitely a process that has to be thought through and dealt with.

Don't want to give anything away, but just want to say I think the filmmakers got this one down pretty accurately. I felt for the parents as they mourned what they felt is lost, but realize that maybe there is also something to celebrate. The realization of the positive, is stunning and made me cry...

Only complaint about this movie was that I think the reaction of the friends/community was a little over the top. I don't think people would react quite as extremely in this day and age as they did. A little too much! If you are expecting a story of two lesbians and their relationship, skip this. If you are a family member/friend etc of someone who is LGBT, or anyone who is not what the majority think is the "norm",this one is for you! Loved it!

One of the many irritants in this trite, well-intentioned lecture on tolerance: The audience is always several moves ahead of the script.

What could have been a very important and thought provoking movie, Jenny's Wedding falls completely flat. Katherine Heigl plays herself as she has in most of her movies. Bomb after bomb has brought us full circle to her post Grey's Anatomy career where her celebrity wave is about ready to crash. Although it is another one of her typical acting roles that she has had since 2007's Knocked Up, the role of Jenny is one of her best opportunities to show that she is a good actress. However, the subject matter is beyond out dated to this point. If this movie was to come out in 1995, then the critics would have been talking about how taboo and thought provoking this movie is. To play it safe, Jenny's Wedding premieres in 2015 where the subject matter is no longer on the "front burner." The supporting cast is as strong as their leading lady. Ir should I say ladies. The Lifetime style direction only adds to the basic 90 minute movie that leaves the audience somewhat entertained and far from informed about the journey Jenny goes through to keep the love for her family. Nothing special nothing new. In fact, Jenny's Wedding is far from anything new.
