I rather enjoyed this film. It didn't act like a typical horror film nor was it a typical thriller. I liked that it had identifiable act breaks, midpoint, etc (which you don't find in all horror films these days) but it also didn't follow a strict story structure (which seems to be becoming more and more popular). Although the film didn't have any sections that were too slow, it did race through some detail that could've been used. If this were a drama I'd be a little more critical but being a horror film I think it was all in all well done. Plus it had turning an extra light on for the first couple nights, so it did it's job.

I'm giving this a 10 due to unfair reviewsReviewed byryansabeanVote: 10/10
This is the first time ever I don't get annoyed by the "Bad guy lives on to spread evil" ending, I mean that's how freaking good it was on an emotional/psychological level, and don't let me get started with Olga Kurylenko's phenomenal performance. Its entire Idea is somewhat original and personally I believe that mainstream movies like Conjuring and IT have nothing on this Bada#$ baby right here. Moreover, on top of all that it's really damn scary, hence I had to turn down the volume so many times whenever I suspected a scene with a terrifying jump scare.
I absolutely loved this movie, I loved the concept of course (cuz im really into the whole sleep paralysis phenomena anyway) and I thought the demon was creepy af. The reason for the hauntings was cool too, dont want to give anything away but I liked that reveal. I also thought it had an awesome ending.
